The story
Started by one person. Built in the open.
VDX was founded in October 2026 by a young European who kept running into the same wall: the instruments behind research, farming and flight are closed, expensive and impossible to verify. You get a number, but not how it was made.
So VDX builds the alternative: hardware you can open, software you can read, data you can check. It starts small, with one platform and a handful of sensors, and grows one published project at a time.

How we work.
Open by default
Software licensed under AGPL-3.0 and MIT, hardware under CERN-OHL-S v2. If we build it, you can inspect it, compile it, fork it, and verify it yourself.
European by design
Built in Europe, hosted on sovereign infrastructure. Data privacy, GDPR compliance, and zero non-EU data exfiltration are built into the protocol.
Zero black boxes
Every metric, sensor calibration, and analytical model has a verifiable audit trail. Science and infrastructure cannot rely on proprietary algorithms.
Community & Collaboration
We build alongside researchers and engineers. Public RFCs, open GitHub discussions, and reproducible benchmarks guide every architectural decision.
